How to make play part of your day
You do not need a long, perfect play session. A few short, intentional moments can make the day feel more interesting for an active cat.
Use the moments you already have
A short wand-toy session before breakfast, a paper ball after work, or a few minutes of searching for treats can fit naturally around the rhythm you already keep.
End while your cat is still interested instead of waiting until everyone is tired. That keeps the next session feeling like an invitation rather than another task.
Rotate the experience, not just the toy
Move a favorite toy to a new room, change the path it takes, or add a cardboard box to turn the same object into a new small puzzle. Variety comes from the setup as much as the toy itself.
Watch what your cat repeats. Some love a chase, some prefer a slow ambush, and some simply want you to sit nearby while they investigate.
